Roulette
Roulette is a game of chance played in gambling casinos, where the roulette wheel is set in an oblong table. Its outer area is marked off into 37 (in Europe) or 38 (in the United States) spaces, each of which has retaining walls so that a small ball may come to rest in one. The sectors alternate in red and black, being numbered as 1 to 36. Variations exist, where there is also a green or sometimes white color, the 0 and in the United States an additional 00.
There are two types of roulette, American and European, the difference being the number of 0's on the wheel. American roulette wheels have two "0's", zero and double-zero, increasing the house advantage to 5.3%, where in European roulette there is only one zero, giving the house an advantage of 2.7%. The two versions also have different chips use.
American roulette uses so-called "non-value" chips; meanwhile European roulette uses standard casino chips of differing values as bets. stakes on the layout. The croupier tosses the ball onto the spinning wheel and where the ball stops indicates the winning bets.
Believe it or not, a third type of roulette wheel has also been described, mainly being the hybrid of the two versions described above. This type of wheel has an American (English language) layout and a single zero.
