Poker
Poker is the most played card game ever, especially the Poker. Although it has no particular ancestor, some early descriptions talk about it as a pretty popular card game played with 20 cards. When played somewhere in the early ages, players used only the aces, kings, queens, jacks and tens and it was played by two to four people. The game later evolved to include 32 cards, till the modern day deck of 52, not counting the two Jokers appeared. Nowadays it is played in saloons, casinos, card rooms and homes and even thrilling competitions and tournaments are organized world wide.
Poker is played either for money or for chips purchased from the game's banker and there are betting rounds during which each player in the game must fold, call, or raise. All bets are placed together to form a pot, the object being to win the pot either by holding the best hand or by bluffing the others to drop.
The two basic forms of the game are draw poker and stud poker, in both of which a deck of 52 cards is used and sometimes a joker added. All suits are equal and cards rank from the ace as high down through the two, or deuce. The thrill of the game stands in the huge variation possibility as there are 2,598,960 possible with 52 cards.
The principal combinations are: straight flush, also called a royal flush, being the highest possible combination in the game, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pairs, and one pair.
